Proprietor of Knock Travel, Doreen McKenzie had
a background of travel and tourism and considerable
overseas experience when she created Knock Travel
on 1st April 1990.
During this time Knock Travel has grown considerably
and there are now two retail agencies and twenty
professional staff members. In 2003 Doreen invested
£250,000 on the refurbishment of the head
office in Ballyhackamore, Belfast. The retail outlet
has been increased by four times its original size
and there is an ambience of relaxed browsing. We
have the latest technology in the travel industry
in the UK. We rank in the top six corporate companies
and we have received numerous awards as recognition
of our attempts to deliver the most professional
and best value for money service.
We define our business in two areas:
Business / Corporate Travel:
A separate department with specialized staff and
separate telephone lines.
Retail Travel: Two retail travel
shops with experienced staff, specialist advisors
with product knowledge and experienced in countries
& areas they have visited.
Knock Travel is the only company in Ireland to
be accredited with ISO 9001 since 1994. This provides
us with an internal audit trail and indicates
to the public an example of our professional standard
of delivery, from administration, to handling
complaints. We used the basic Government business
format to design our own criteria, to measure
and monitor business management and complaints,
which is so important in the industry today
Doreen McKenzie was privileged and delighted to
be awarded with the N.I Travel and Tourism Personality
1998 in recognition of her work and achievements,
in her many roles within ABTA (Association of
British Travel Agents), providing benefits to

TravelMedia Kiosk and is the only Travel Agency
in the UK or Ireland which offers its customers
the opportunity to browse a multimedia presentation
that excites customers into thinking about new
holiday options and different destinations. It
consists of a touch screen VDU that is simple
